Year End Focus – May’s Blog Hop
This was the first year that I was working as well as homeschooling. Joshua did pretty well but I think we need to continue looking for some things that might make it easier for him to work independently and still move forward. We seriously discussed the possibility of attending public school but after much discussion, Joshua feels very strongly that he wants to remain a homeschool high school student.
Over the summer we plan to work on strategies to help him be more consistent. I am also looking into different ideas for testing to find out if there are gaps that we need to work on. I know he wants to try our Florida Virtual School for their driver’s ed program and we might look into other classes as well.
Also, Joshua spent time this year planning several projects. One project that he finished was learning about chickens, working with his dad to build a coop, and now raising our six hens. He created a better camping cooking method. He has other project ideas in mind as well. Part of what we might look into is finding to document all this work into usable school information.
Joshua is hard-working and really helpful around the house and I appreciate all that he does. He attended Confirmation classes and joined our church as an adult member on Easter Sunday.
