I was introduced to scrapbooks and photo albums almost from the beginning. My mother always kept albums for my sister and me. I always enjoyed looking back over them and so I was inspired to continue to record my memories as I got older. My first step into series memory making was at a Creative Memories party in 1995. I really enjoyed the process of doing more than just putting pictures on the page and adding labels. I even tried my hand at selling Creative Memories in 2004. It didn’t work out and I decided I wanted to try to be a bit more creative and discovered Close to My Heart that added the element of stamping and eyelets to spice up the workouts. But I discovered that getting one page done took even longer and it took so long to get everything out and get started that I started falling further and further behind. Of course my photos were almost all digital by this time as well. Then in the fall of 2007 I discovered the exciting world of digital scrapping. Wow, I could be fun and funky or plain and staid but it was all right there on my computer with no fuss or mess. I have been working hard ever since to get caught up and have been making steady progress over the last two years with well over 1000 layouts completed.
I have been using Photoshop Elements 5 to do most of my work and find that at least for now it more than meets my needs. I have been having lots of fun working with different stories and designers to create wonderful layouts that will be wonderful memories for my family and showcase their great design work as well. I have also tried a bit of designing and really loved the process but since I’m so far behind I decided to put that aspect on hold for now except a quick page or two for the Creative Teams I work on.
