Challenge to Scrapping
I sort of hit a patch of not being able to feel inspired about scrapping and was feeling a bit burned out. I have taken a break from my Creative Team Work starting the first of April. I will re-exam my interest after the summer has died down. I do have a short two month Creative Team assignment but this is working with Dagi’s Temp-tations so I will have a chance to use any kits that fit what I am working on with the assigned templates.
Also, my time as a Praise Team member came to an end with Scraps n’ Pieces suffered server issues and cut back to only selling store kits. But it sort of caught me up short and so next month I will probably give some of the challenges at Ginger Scraps a try since many of the SnP designers were already there so I have kits.
Challenge Myself Artistically
I have pledged to do 1 or more challenges at The Lily Pad since their challenges seem to stretch me with trying different styles or techniques. This month I actually got 4 of the challenges completed early in the month before everything else seemed to head south. I finally got all of those challenges posted today.
This scrap lift challenge required you to use one of Sokee’s layouts from her gallery. I used the ideas of repeating shapes, word strips, scatters, and splatters with one picture as my inspiration to the layout I submitted.
I created this scraplift challenge layout from a photo I lifted off of Facebook that my son was tagged in. Since he doesn’t always pose for pictures I wanted to take advantage.
Kit – Amber LeBau Designs – Stories. Tempalte was self made using brushes and shapes. Font is Caviar Dreams Bold Italic.
As the name implies the Template Challenge is all about using the template provided. I have been continuing to use on of the techniques I learned in the Month of Challenges, using styles to dress up the title and make it pop.
The layout features one of my many full moon photos. I just love looking at the full moon. This one was caught in the morning as I left for work. It was hazing and I was looking through the trees. It was taken in February of 2016.
Kit – Mommyish – So Basic. Template – the challenge template provided. Fonts – Courier New Regular and Catherine. The style is Mommyish Feb 2017 byoc Glitter.
This one is the random challenge. You were to use a white background for your page and at least 4 different patterned papers.
My layout features my teenage daughter who didn’t want to have her picture taken back in March 2016.
The style challenge was to take a grid design and make modifications to the standard grid. I moderated mine by first leaving more space around the different elements, I tilted one of the photos at an angle, and I used a long center paper to do my journaling on.
The layout features pictures from September 2016.
Kit – Bella Gypsy – That’s Life Everyday. Fonts – Janda Manatee Solid and KG Empire of Dirt.
