Sharing a meal is a very important part of building family. In a perfect world we would share dinner together every night but even with that isn’t possible the more meals you share together each week the better it is. The time at the family table can be a time for serious discussion or sometimes pure silliness that leads to catches phrases that bind the family together. Also, sharing food that is special to your family can help build traditions that will be passed on. Need discussion ideas check out Table Topics on Pinterest.
We have also used food as a way to enhance our learning. It might be in the form fixing food that ties in with a geographic area or a historical period. One of the most interesting meals was when we did a study on the 20th Century and fixed TV dinners.
Sometimes the relationship building happens in the act of cooking together. Whether you are fixing an old family favorite or trying something new learning, laughter, and love can happen in the kitchen.
Stop by and share your favorite meal memories.
