This week we are on the letter G and I went with a holiday theme with gingerbread. Hope you enjoy.
G is for Gingerbread
In 2005 we celebrated my in-laws anniversary on Amelia Island and got to see the giant gingerbread house. And it was wonderful to see all the cousins pose by it.
Over the years we have sometimes taken the time to build a gingerbread house and other years we haven’t. This year Hannah picked up whole village and put it together.
Of course there are gingerbread men as well. Here is Food Networks recipe for Gingerbread Cookies. But what I really like is a regular gingerbread cake served warm with some whipped cream. Joy of Cooking has a Gingerbread Cake recipe.
And don’t forget to read one of the many version of The Gingerbread Man while you are making the cookies. And for some learning fun here’s a link to Starfall the Gingerbread Man.
