T is for Tree Climbing
When I was growing up one of my two favorite activities was tree climbing. The other one was reading and I would often combine the two. Now I did it the old fashion way of using my body to get up in the tree but now days there are other options if you want to enjoy getting up into the tree.
Peace in Tree Climbing
I always found peace when I was up in a tree. It was where I would find my own space and have the quiet I craved. Sometimes I still wish I had a tree to climb up in to get away.
Hannah had the chance to have her tree climbing experience today using ropes. We were at Circle B Bar Ranch Park and the tree climbing service was provided by Pathfinders Outdoor Education out of St. Petersburg, Florida. When the boys did these climbs in the past they seem to be all about getting as high as they could as fast as they could. But it was fun to watch Hannah. She would go up a bit and just relax and look around. She would spend sometime hanging upside down. She tried several different lines and spent sometime actually sitting in the tree. But it was so much fun to watch her enjoy the journey up the rope.
Strength in Tree Climbing
Tree climbing no matter which method you use take strength. You have to take care to ensure your safety. Hannah used a lot of strength both physically in the act of climbing but also mentally because you have to follow the proper steps. You also have to challenge yourself to go higher. And while she was content to stop and rest she was still motivated to keep climbing.
Today I had a lot of fun watching Hannah enjoy herself in this special opportunity.
